The Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) a statutory organization of the government of Kenya has implemented NEW Pre-Export Verification of Conbity (PVoC) as of 15 November, 2008 based on Article 5 of Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT/WTO).

SGS is fully authorized by the The Kenyan Bureau of Standards (KEBS) to issue Certificate of Conbity (CoC) under this program.

PVoC program is a conbity assessment and verification procedure applied to specific goods/products exported to Kenya to ensure their compliance with the applicable Kenyan Technical Regulations and Mandatory Standards or approved equivalents.

All consignments subject to PVoC must obtain a Certificate of Conbity (CoC) for mandatory Customs Clearance in Kenya. Any consignments arriving at Kenyan Ports without this document will be denied entry into the country.

The key bive of PVoC is to make sure that the all imported 'Regulated Products' meet the mandatory quality, safety, and security requirements of the Kenyan technical regulations and standards approved by KEBS.

The conbity assessment and verification activities are conducted at various exporting countries; this will facilitate trade and eliminate losses that importers may be exposed to in case they have to re-export the products not found in compliance with the mandatory requirements.
