桥梁伸缩缝：指的是为满足桥面变形的要求，通常在两梁端之间、梁端与桥台之间或桥梁的铰接位置上设置伸缩缝。要求伸缩缝在平行、垂直于桥梁轴线的两个方向，均能自由伸缩，牢固可靠，车辆行驶过时应平顺、无突跳与噪声；要能防止雨水和垃圾泥土渗入阻塞；安装、检查、养护、消除污物都要简易方便。 在设置伸缩缝处，栏杆与桥面铺装都要断开。 桥梁伸缩缝的作用:在于调节由车辆荷载和桥梁建筑材料所引起的上部结构之间的位移和联结。斜交桥的伸缩装置一旦被破坏，将严重影响行车的速度、舒适性与安全，甚至造成行车安全事故。

1、伸缩装置因受运输长度限制，可分段制造，现场拼接。存放在工地的伸缩装置应平行放置，不得交叉堆放，以防变形。

3、伸缩装置吊装就位前，应将预留槽内的混凝土打毛，清扫干净。安装时伸缩装置顺桥向的宽度a值，应对称放在伸缩缝的间隙上，并使其顶面标高与设计标高吻合后垫平，然后穿放衡向的联接水平钢筋，将伸缩装置上的锚固钢筋与梁上预埋钢筋两侧焊牢（尽量增加焊接点与焊接长度，以延长伸缩装置的使用寿命），放松卡具，使其自由伸缩，此时伸缩装置已进入工作状态。
