EDI-240 is a certified prime grade 19 % VINYL ACETATE-ETHYLENE copolymer designed for specialized molding applications requiring excellent toughness, resilience and strength properties. EDI-240 features high molecular weight, high melt viscosity, good processability, crossbability, and easy foamability. Molded parts exhibit high impact strength, exceptional resistance to low temperature brittleness, high elasticity, and outstanding sealability. EDI-240 applications include tough, lightweight, scuff resistant athletic footwear wedges, midsoles and outsoles, flexible tubing and hose, automotive parts, sportive articles and as blend component for property improvement with PE, PP, SBR, and other polymers. EDI-240 complies with FDA regulation 21CFR 177.1350 (a) + (b) concerning Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate copolymers use in contact with food articles, subject to restrictions: 1) may not be used for contact with food containing more than 0.5% alcohol, and: 2) may not be used in materials for food packaging exceeding 10 mils (250 μ) thickness.
